Hi, my name is Heather O’Sullivan, and this is my first year teaching at St. William the Abbot School! I received my bachelor’s degree in English Secondary Education from CUNY Queens College. I have spent over 300 hours student-teaching in a high school and a middle school in Queens, New York. My experience as a student teacher has not only confirmed but strengthened my passion for teaching English Language Arts.
I believe in the education of the whole student, and the importance of making personal connections to class material. I am beyond excited to be teaching what I love and leading my students to find joy in learning. I find that one of life’s greatest rewards is being given the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on someone’s educational journey. This is something I feel strongly about because St. William the Abbot School had that impact on me, as I am a graduate of this special place. After I graduated from St. William the Abbot School, I attended Kellenberg Memorial High School. I am a strong advocate of Catholic Education, because I am a thankful product of it. My Catholic faith is prominent in my everyday life and has helped shape me into the person I am today. I plan to share my faith with my students and help them grow as active members of their church and community. I am eager to teach 7th and 8th grade English, and 8-1 Religion this year. Thank you for gifting me the opportunity to do what I love!
