My name is Rosana Bongermino. I am very excited to begin my third year here at St. William the Abbot School as the fifth and sixth grade social studies teacher. I have previously taught in the Connetquot Central School District as both a substitute teacher and a fourth grade teacher.
I am a product of Catholic education, having attended St. Mary’s School in East Islip (my hometown!) and St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School. I attended Dowling College for my undergraduate work, earning my B.A. in Elementary Education. I went on to earn my Master’s Degree at Stony Brook University.
My goal as an educator is to foster an environment of learning, respect, and responsibility. I want my students to know they are safe and cared for while in my room. Mistakes mean we are learning, but no matter what we keep moving forward! When I am not in my classroom you can find me snuggling with my dog Hercules, reading a book, or catching up on the latest episode of “Doctor Who.” You can also find me scouring craft stores for new art projects and for supplies to finish older projects!
