Information for Students Trying Out for a SWS Team

Middle school sports teams are open to St William the Abbot School 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.

This has nothing to do with CYO.

There are tryouts for each team, check school calendar and this page for dates.

Playing on a team in 6th or 7th grade does not guarantee a spot on the team in 8th grade.  The best player at tryouts is given a spot.

Transportation is not provided by the school, each student is required to find their own transportation to and from all games and practices.

There is a fee to cover expenses once a student has made a team.

Minimum academic requirements are listed in the student handbook.  A student must be in good academic standing to participate in the middle school sports program.

This is a competitive league, there are no equal playing time rules.  Playing time is at the coaches discretion.

All athletes, parents, and coaches are a reflection of our school and parish.  All conduct and behavior are expected to be respectful and commendable.
