    8th Grade Math
  • Getting to Know Me . . .

I grew up in Wantagh, and attended St. Barnabas the Apostle School, then onto St. Pius the X High School. It was in elementary school that I fell in love with math. From that time I knew that teaching math was my future. After high school, I attended St. John’s University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early and Middle Childhood Education. From my first teaching assignment at St. Andrew Avellino School until today, I have enjoyed every moment working with seventh and eighth grade students preparing them for their high school experience in mathematics.

    Favorite Saints
My favorite saints are St. Cecelia, the patroness of church musicians, and St. John the Paul the II.
As a parish music director, I look to St. Cecelia to inspire the way I play and help parishioners grow closer in their relationship with God through music. I have always been inspired by the love that St. John the Paul II has for our Youth! He always supported and reminded us of the importance of our youth. We need to build a relationship with our youth, the Church of today, and the Church of tomorrow.

    Favorite Quote
“Remember that you are never alone, Christ is with you on your journey every day of your lives! He has called you and chosen you to live in the freedom of the children of God. Turn to Him in prayer and in love. Ask Him to grant you the courage and strength to live in this freedom always. Walk with Him who is ‘the Way, the Truth and the Life.’”
For as we walk with God, He walks with us!

    Favorite Bible Verse
One of my favorite Bible verses centers on the greatest gift – the gift of love.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. - 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

God is Good, All the Time! and All the Time, God is Good! He is AWESOME!!

  • Welcome!

As we journey this year, I look forward to building a relationship with my students and their parents that supports a progressive path for each student. They will leave my classroom as confident young men and women prepared for high school, college, and whatever God has in plan for them. Please know that you are free to email me and contact me with any questions or concerns. Schoology will be the platform to use to know the what, where, and how of your child’s assignments.

I am grateful to each family who has entrusted the care both spiritually and academically to the care of St. William’s. At St. William’s you will find the guidance, the motivation to excel, and the spirit to aspire in providing a solid well rounded educational experience for each student.

In math, I will be following the iReady Classroom Next Gen Program. My belief is that there are many different types of learners so I try to make lessons that are crafted to fit the needs of my students. My classroom design is a classroom that invites all students to learn by alternating between videos, lectures, explaining through real-world examples, modeling problem-solving thinking as well as the use of Peer lead group activities that develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. I am driven by the positive attitude of my students as they strive to grow and develop a deeper love and understanding of real-world math in action. The use of eMATHinstruction, EdPuzzle, Delta math are some examples of the supports used in my daily classroom instruction.
